Traffic Alert: On April 8, Stop Signs Installed for East/West Traffic on Merced Ave at Magnolia Ave & Scofield Ave

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Kern County Public Works will be placing stop signs for east and westbound traffic on Merced Avenue at Magnolia Avenue and Scofield Avenue in Shafter, making these intersections all-way stops. Changeable message signs will be in place on the day of construction and for one week afterward. The California Highway Patrol has been notified and will be in the area enforcing the new stop signs.
