Mojave-Rosamond Landfill Closed Today, August 6
The Mojave-Rosamond Landfill is closed today, August 6, 2026, as operations are relocated to an alternate disposal area following a fire that has been extinguished. The landfill is expected to reopen tomorrow, Friday, August 7, at 8:00 a.m.
Customers are advised to use the following nearby Kern County Public Works disposal sites until the Mojave-Rosamond Landfill reopens:
Tehachapi Transfer Station Temporary
Open Monday-Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Boron Landfill
Open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
and Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
