Traffic Alert: Road Construction at Intersection of MLK Jr. Blvd. & Feliz Drive to Begin August 24
Beginning Monday, August 24, 2026, Kern County Public Works will begin construction at the Intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Feliz Drive. Construction is anticipated to be completed by September 21, 2026.
The project includes:
- Pavement rehabilitation
- Removal and replacement of existing traffic striping and pavement markings
Traffic Impacts
Temporary traffic control measures will be in place throughout construction, including temporary lane closures within the immediate work area. Traffic will remain open through the intersection, with advance warning signs, channelization, and flaggers used to safely direct motorists.
To minimize traffic delays, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible during the construction period.
